Designing the Human Experience
The interiors I create are timeless in character, bespoke in expression, biophilically integrated, and fundamentally derived from consideration of the way we live and move within a space.
Blending life-long artistic pursuits with over a decade of formal and technical design expertise, I approach design as a holistic, interconnected process where the human experience informs the interior architecture, the landscape informs the architectural plan, and context and culture inform design.
I shape spaces that balance function with aesthetics, without compromising either – every detail is deeply considered and contributive to order, harmony, and longevity.
While each project is unique, the through-line in my work is human-centered design: spaces that connect the built environment & lived experience to their natural and cultural context.

Guided by classic design principles and inspired by biophilic materials, European architectural details, and the warmth & simplicity of the Mediterranean lifestyle,
Merzino designs projects and residential spaces that are collected, storied, and suffused with natural, understated elegance.
The Merzino style integrates artisanal materials of the old world – clay tile, lime-washed walls, reclaimed oak beams – with sophisticated contemporary technology and detail.
